In a successful operation conducted by the Nigerian Army in Kaduna State on Sunday, three terrorists were eliminated, and an AK47 rifle was recovered. The decisive clearance mission took place in Maidaro, Ngade, Ahla, and Rikau villages within the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. According to Musa Yahaya, the spokesman of the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna, the terrorists attempted to escape upon the troops' arrival, with two of them being neutralized, while others managed to flee, sustaining gunshot injuries. The criminals abandoned a motorcycle in their haste to escape.
Additionally, on the same day, soldiers carried out an operation in the Tantatu and Antena areas of the Chikun Local Government Area. During this operation, one terrorist was neutralized, and a significant cache of weaponry was seized, including an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, 7.62mm ammunition, and two phones.
Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya reported that General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, and Force Commander of "Operation Whirl Punch," Valentine Okoro, commended the troops for their dedication and urged them to maintain their efforts until all criminals and terrorists in the Division's area of responsibility are eradicated. Major General Okoro emphasized the importance of the community's cooperation, urging the people of Kaduna State to continue providing credible and actionable intelligence to the army and security agencies.
