According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP has imposed restrictions on vehicular movement in these states. Additionally, there is a temporary ban on the use of canoes, ships, and other forms of water transportation within the three states. These measures have been put in place to uphold the principles of a free, fair, and credible electoral process during the November 11 gubernatorial election.

Adejobi emphasized that the directive also encompasses a ban on the operations of certain state security groups, including Ebubeagu and other similar entities, during the election period. Given the riverine terrain of these states, the IGP has stationed marines and gunboats to enhance security.

In a concerted effort to strengthen security, Egbetokun mentioned the deployment of security equipment, such as helicopters for aerial surveillance, and the provision of 220 operational vehicles for election security monitoring in the three states. These measures aim to ensure a peaceful and secure electoral process in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa states.
