The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, November 5, at Paris Nord Villepinte, France. Organizers demonstrated their recognition of the ever-evolving Afrobeats genre by introducing the "Best Afrobeats" category, showcasing their commitment to staying on the cutting edge of the industry's developments.

Despite the award ceremony's cancellation due to the Israel-Hamas conflict, the winners were announced on Sunday, November 6, 2023. Rema's win in the "Best Afrobeats" category marked a significant achievement, and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania secured the 'Best African Act' category.
