Singer Reekado Banks quits Mavin Records Officially (Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dija and fans Reacts)

Nigerian singer, Reekado Banks, whose real name is Ayoleyi Solomon, has parted ways with Don Jazzy’s Marvin Records.

The 25 year-old singer announced his departure from Mavin Records on Instagram, with an emotional note. He thanked Don Jazzy for the opportunity he gave him when he signed with the record label in 2013. And Don Jazzy was graceful enough to wish the former protege well in his career. “Sign small boy …small boy turn big man. It’s been an incredible 5 years. Wishing you nothing but success”.

Reekado post read:

“Today I write in tears, not from a place of pain, but of joy and gratitude. A place of bliss and satisfaction because I am more than contented with how far this opportunity has brought me. The last five years have been the most blissful years of my career.

The journey has been extremely wonderful and filled with the best experiences. “I’ve learnt that family is not just about blood ties but about the love, sacrifices and friendship that exist amongst its members. The relationships I have fostered has proved to me that love is thicker than blood. Joining the @mavinrecords family was the best thing to have happened to me in the last decade. @donjazzy took me in and treated me like his own son. I’ll be eternally grateful to him for sacrifices he made towards the growth of my career. “His selflessness and efforts towards me and the entire Mavin crew is one that is admirable and worthy of emulation. A true KING with a large heart, full of kindness and ready to accommodate even more people. And to the rest of the crew, Our family is a clear example of the saying, ‘We rise by lifting others’. Thank you all for all the times you’ve lifted me at my lowest moments, for the support, the amazing hits and most especially, the LOVE. “Taking this bold step and moving on from Mavin Records onto bigger opportunities is something that, though not easy, is absolutely necessary because of my growth.
I am very ecstatic about what the future holds and I cannot wait to share with everyone what new opportunities have come. Long Live Mavin Records.”

Shatta Wale arrives in Ghana today after performing in four European countries — England, Germany, Holland and Belgium—which was a tour scheduled to continue his launch of his Reign Album.

The self-styled dancehall king kept moving the crowd that greeted him at all his four sold-out concerts in Europe — from London(England), Amsterdam(Holland), Dusseldorf(Germany) and Antwerp(Belgium).
The dancehall artiste in all his performances during his tour made sure his fans got their money’s worth with his excellent stagecraft and amazing performance of all his hit songs.
Shatta Wale stoked controversy with a statement he made at Reign Unveiled concert in London.

After putting up a sparkling performance at the Indigo O2 Arena in London, he came in the news again for saying at the programme that “Ghana is a village.”

While performing on stage, the self-proclaimed dancehall king paused and said: “I just wanna share that word with you. Shatta Wale is a very nice guy. All that you keep reading about me on google from Ghana…Ghana is a village, say village, village.”

The ‘my level’ hitmaker yet again stirred another controversy in Dusseldorf, Germany for a concert as part of his Reign tour, he showed his buttocks on stage as predicted by Sarkodie.

Toke Makinwa made a frank submission on the ongoing divorce conversation on Instagram, insisting that people who have gone through a divorce should stop being considered as outcasts.

Toke Makinwa made this comment on divorce while responding to a discussion between two Instagram users who were weighing in on the social media dispute between Cool FM presenter, Daddy Freeze and singer Timi Dakolo.

Both Daddy Freeze and Timi Dakolo have been engaging themselves in an argument concerning the ideology of divorce and marriage.

Daddy Freeze, who is a divorcee seemed to have dismissive opinion about divorce, while the one-time Idols West Africa
winner, Timi Dakolo feels a union between a man and wife should be sacred.

The heated conversation between Daddy Freeze and Timi Dakolo soon became an issue of who is in a more informed position to offer marriage advice.

Toke Makinwa, however, is concerned about putting an end to the victimization of divorcees.

The Nigerian society indeed have promoted a complex that has seen individuals who experience a bad marital relationship to be tagged with a stigma associated with a failure.

Toke Makinwa recently crossed a big hurdle in her life when an Igbosere High Court in Lagos dissolved her three-year-old marriage to Maje Ayida who was reportedly unfaithful to her during their union.
