In a significant development, Rivers State Governor, Siminalaye Fubara, met face-to-face with his estranged godfather and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the first time since their reported feud began. This meeting comes in the midst of an escalating crisis, marked by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly signing an impeachment notice against Governor Fubara.
Both Fubara and Wike, attending the Police Council meeting in Abuja, extended a handshake in a sign of potential reconciliation. The meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, also saw the presence of several other Governors, including Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Abdullahi Abba (Kano), and Bassey Otu of Cross River.
