This initiative, as detailed in a statement by council Chairman Dr. Emeka Odogwu, aims to foster connections with various organizations and communities. The statement, accessible through Tribune Online in Abakaliki, Ebonyi, confirmed the participation of notable figures, including Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Stella Okunna, the first female Professor of Mass Communication in Africa, at the grand finale of the press week.

During the scheduled events, APGA’s National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, is set to deliver a keynote address themed "Pragmatic Media Practice as an Antidote to Sustainable Development in a Distressed Economy." The press week, commencing with an interactive session featuring Sly Ezeokenwa, will culminate in a media summit and the conferment of the Anambra NUJ Man of The Year Award for 2023.

Dr. Njideka Ezeonyejiaku and Chukwuleta Chigozie, Chair and Secretary of the Press Week Planning Committee, revealed a lineup of activities. These include presenting the NUJ 2023 Anambra Man of the Year Award to Igwe Alex Onyido, the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi kingdom, and conferring the Ethical Journalist of the Year 2023 Award upon Professor Chinyere Okunna. Moreover, the event will feature a friendly match between the NUJ team and the state judiciary team.

In addition to these activities, the committee announced plans for NUJ Outreach programs in disadvantaged communities across the three senatorial zones, along with entertainment events like Karaoke Night and Couples Unification Hour. These initiatives aim to combine community engagement, recognition of journalistic excellence, and recreational activities in a diverse and inclusive press week celebration.
