The Federal Government of Nigeria, in conjunction with IHS Nigeria, has joined forces to create technical talent learning communities nationwide. This collaborative effort bolsters the recently introduced Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. Over the course of three years, the government will work alongside IHS Nigeria to establish these learning communities in all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, offering a platform for 3MTT participants to convene on a weekly basis, fostering learning, collaboration, and project development.
Ekaete Umo, the Head of Press and Public Relations at the ministry, elucidated that, as part of this partnership, IHS Nigeria will not only provide financial backing but also share its industry expertise to support the initiative. Dr. 'Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovations & Digital Economy, took to LinkedIn to express his enthusiasm for the collaboration. He highlighted that the financial commitment from IHS Nigeria, amounting to one billion Naira, will significantly enhance the ministry's endeavors in nurturing a pool of technical talent within the country.
In his statement, Dr. Tijani announced, "I am excited to announce a N1 Billion partnership between the @FMoCDE and IHS Towers to establish the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Learning Community. This initiative, which is in support of our recently launched 3MTT programme, will facilitate the set up of learning communities in the 36 states and the FCT. The N1 billion funding from IHS Towers also includes a commitment to paying the salaries of 37 dedicated learning community managers for each location for the next 3 years."
