NYSC Sends 1,691 Prospective Corps Members to Bauchi State for Orientation.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has initiated the deployment of 1,691 prospective Corps members to Bauchi State for the 2023 Batch ‘C’ stream 1 orientation exercise. Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, the State Coordinator, revealed this information during an interactive session with journalists in Bauchi.
Scheduled to commence on November 1 and conclude on the 21st of the same month, the orientation camp for these Corps members will be held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wailo, situated in the Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.
Yakubu emphasized that only those verified as assigned to the state for the mandatory one-year national service would be granted entry into the camp, as part of stringent security measures to prevent infiltration or impersonation.
To ensure a smooth process, each prospective Corps member has been allocated specific registration dates, and adherence to the camp’s rules and regulations is strongly advised. Non-compliance will result in sanctions aligned with NYSC by-laws.
Furthermore, Yakubu stressed the prohibition of late-night travels and encouraged the incoming corps members to commence their journeys during the daytime, emphasizing punctuality, diligence, and adherence to the camp's dress code. Any negligence regarding the NYSC dress code will not be tolerated.
In consideration of safety concerns on Nigerian roads, Yakubu urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards avoid night travels due to prevailing insecurity along these routes. This guidance was issued to safeguard the prospective Corps members throughout their journey to the orientation camp.
