Operation Safe Haven Apprehends Seven Suspected Kidnappers and 27 Other Criminals in Plateau, Kaduna, Bauchi
Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has made significant strides in tackling criminal activities. They arrested seven suspected kidnappers and 27 other individuals in the regions of Plateau, Kaduna, and Bauchi. The operation also resulted in the rescue of three kidnapping victims and the prevention of four attacks on vulnerable communities. The Commander, Major General AE Abubakar, commended the public for their cooperation and urged continued vigilance in reporting suspicious activities.
Success in Apprehending Suspected Kidnappers and Criminals.
Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) on Operation Hakorin Damisa IV have conducted a successful operation, apprehending 34 suspected criminals, including seven kidnappers, within one week in their operational areas spanning Plateau, parts of Kaduna, and Bauchi States.
The OPSH, through its Media Information Officer, Captain Oya James, revealed that these suspects were nabbed in connection with a range of criminal activities, including kidnapping, assaults, cattle rustling, arms trafficking, farm vandalism, theft, and possession of illicit substances.
In the course of the week, a total of 34 individuals were apprehended, comprising 7 suspected kidnappers, 4 alleged gunrunners, 3 linked to village attacks, 3 cattle rustlers, and 2 suspects detained for drug trafficking. Additionally, 3 kidnapping victims were successfully rescued, and the troops thwarted 4 attacks on vulnerable communities, promptly responding to 36 distress calls.
Major General AE Abubakar, the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and collaboration of the citizens in Plateau, Southern Kaduna, and Bauchi States. He emphasized that once investigations are finalized, all arrested suspects will be brought before the court, while urging the public to report any suspicious activities in their localities to the command's personnel.
