Speaking at the Government College in Ibadan during the commissioning of various projects initiated by the school's alumni, Governor Makinde emphasized the critical role of collaboration between the government and private entities to elevate the standard of education and revive the institution's former eminence.
Expressing gratitude for the efforts of the old boys' association, Makinde acknowledged the limitations of the government in singularly addressing the multifaceted challenges within the education sector. During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Makinde inaugurated a state-of-the-art 3-in-1 court catering to basketball, volleyball, and handball, alongside a renovated library and two technical education workshops focusing on metal and woodwork. The latter, generously donated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, aimed to bolster technical education in the state.
